Keep the jar. Refill the cream.

The Barrier Repair Cream is the product our customers finish and reorder most, so it is the one we made refillable. The jar is glass with a metal lid, built to be kept. The refill is a pouch that holds the same 50 ml of the same cream.

How to refill

  1. Finish and rinse

Use up the cream in your jar. Rinse the jar and the lid with warm water.

  2. Dry completely

Let both dry fully, ideally overnight. Water left in the jar is the one thing that can spoil a refill.

  3. Decant in one go

Tear the pouch at the notch and squeeze it into the jar from the bottom up. One pouch fills the jar exactly, so empty it fully.

  4. Close tightly

Air is what degrades the actives. Close the lid after every use and finish the jar within 6 months of opening.

  5. Recycle the pouch

The pouch is a single material, which lets it go in curbside programs that accept plastic film. Check your local rules.

Refill on a schedule

The refill pouch can be subscribed to, at 10% off each delivery, every 4, 6, 8 or 12 weeks. Used twice a day, a jar lasts about ten weeks, so most people choose 8 weeks. The pouch ships flat, so it fits a mailbox. Pausing, skipping, changing the frequency and canceling are all self-serve in the subscription portal.

Common questions

About the refill

Do I have to buy a jar first?

Yes. A refill pouch goes only into its matching Seravane jar. The pouch is not made to be resealed or used on its own.

Is there a refill for other products?

Today the program covers the Barrier Repair Cream. It is the product with the highest repeat rate, so it is where a refill removes the most packaging.

How many times can I refill one jar?

As many as it lasts. The jar, lid and seal are covered by our 2-year packaging warranty under normal use, and refilling is normal use.

My lid stopped closing after several refills. What do I do?

That is a warranty claim, not a return. Start it on the warranty claims page with your order number and a photo of the lid.

Questions about the program?

Ask in the chat, or use the form on our Contact page and choose The Refill Program, and our refill specialist will answer.
