Barrier-first skincare, made in short formulas

Repair first. Everything else after.

Ceramides, cholesterol and fatty acids in the 3:1:1 ratio skin builds its own barrier with. Actives dosed at strengths you can read on the label. Nothing fragranced, anywhere in the catalog.

The four products people come back for

Most of what we ship is a repeat order. These are the formulas behind that: a cream, its refill, a cleanser that does not strip and a mineral sunscreen that does not pill.

Shop by line

Five lines and the sets, each with one job

A routine is easier to build when every product says what it is for. Each line names its actives, its percentages and its pH on the carton.

What we believe

Most skin does not need more. It needs its barrier back.

The outer layer of skin is held together by three lipids: ceramides, cholesterol and free fatty acids. When that layer is intact, skin holds water and shrugs off most of what touches it. When it is worn down, by over-cleansing, by too many acids, by a dry winter, everything stings and nothing seems to work.

So we start there. Every Seravane routine begins with a cleanser mild enough to forget about and a moisturizer built on the same three lipids, in the 3:1:1 ratio skin already uses. Actives come second, one at a time, at a percentage printed on the front of the bottle.

We would rather tell you what a formula cannot do than sell you a promise. An eye balm does not erase dark circles. A 10% niacinamide is not better than a 6% one. A label you can read without a glossary is the least a skincare brand owes you.

Clinical results

Measured, then published

We commission instrumental and consumer-use studies on our own formulas and publish the design, the sample size and the results, including the ones that are only modest.

Routine Builder

Five questions, one routine, in the order you use it

Tell us about your skin and what you already use. The Routine Builder returns three to five products and the order of steps, with the reason for each one written next to it. It takes about a minute, and no email is needed to see the result.

Refill Program

Keep the jar. Refill the cream.

The Barrier Repair Cream jar is glass with a metal lid, and it is built to be refilled. The pouch holds the same 50 ml of the same formula, costs 25% less per ml and ships flat enough to fit a mailbox.

  • Identical formula to the jar, not a reformulation
  • Mono-material pouch, 82% less packaging by weight
  • $36 for 50 ml, against $48 for the jar
  • Available on subscription, every 4, 6, 8 or 12 weeks

Sets

The routines we actually recommend

Each set ships with a printed order of use. One is the routine for a barrier that needs rebuilding, the other is the three steps that do most of the work.
